2008 RED LODGE MUSIC FESTIVAL

Fees are to be paid by May 27, 2008. The $20 registration fee is non-refundable. If registration is
cancelled after June 1, the $50 room deposit cannot be refunded. Please send any balance due to:

REGISTRATION: Saturday, June 7, 1:00-3:00 pm, Red Lodge High School.

AUDITIONS:      Saturday, June 7 from 2:00-4:00 pm, following registration. Students are to prepare a short piece of solo literature. Solos need not be memorized. Violin and piano students will be mailed audition materials upon registration. Orchestra and wind ensemble seating will be done by the respective
directors at scheduled rehearsal times.

HOUSING:       ALL STUDENTS WILL CHECK INTO HOUSING UNITS THROUGH THE COUNSELORS after 2:00.
Girls will check in at the Lupine Inn, boys at either the Lupine Inn or Chateau Rouge. Please do not check into the motels
before completing on-site registration.

MEALS:          Meals, except for Festival picnics, will be served in the high school cafeteria.

The first meal is
Saturday, June 7 at 5:15 pm. The final meal will be Sunday, June 15 at noon.

BRING:           Folding music stand, instrument, strings, reeds, etc.
Rockstops for all cello and bass students.
Pencils, notebook.

Any solo or ensemble literature you may wish to study.
Personal toilet articles. Girls please bring extra washcloths for make-up removal.
Alarm clocks
Bicycles, if desired, with reliable lock. (Chateau Rouge is almost a mile from the high school.)

CLOTHING:      Casual clothing may be worn to classes and rehearsals.

NO GRUBBIES AT CONCERTS. Please wear nice slacks or dresses, no jeans.
Bring enough dress clothes (no jeans, shorts or t-shirts to attend 5 faculty recitals and your student concerts.
Bring warm coats and sweaters. The weather in Red Lodge is unpredictable.
Bring swim suits if you wish to use the pool.
Student Concert Dress: Thursday, Friday, and Sunday

Girls; Long or short dresses or pants outfits.

Boys: Dark slacks, dress shirt with tie.

May be arranged by the student with individual instructors upon arrival at Festival.
Fees are $15.00 per half hour, payable to the instructor.

Students arriving in Billings by bus or airlines, may arrange for transportation to Red Lodge.
Please make arrangements at least one week prior to arriving.

Students are not allowed, at any time, to ride in vehicles other than with camp staff or their own
parents/guardians. Parents/guardians may designate, in writing before the camp's opening day,
another person to transport the student to or from camp.

 

If the student is ill, he/she will contact a counselor immediately. Medical expenses due to illness are the student’s responsibility.
 

All discipline problems will be dealt with immediately by the counseling staff or Festival
Director. If a student is sent home, or leaves the camp early, no refund of fees will be made.

 

All performances are in the Red Lodge Civic Auditorium.

Parents/guardians wishing to have their child released early from camp, before the final
performance on Sunday, June 15, please fill out the early release form attached and return
before the beginning camp date, June 7, 2007.
