Kim Plewniak, Double Bass

Ms. Plewniak is currently assistant principal bass with the Spokane Symphony in Washington. There, she maintains a large teaching studio and is an adjunct professor at both Eastern Washington University and Gonzaga University. Origionally from Buffalo, NY, she received her Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music and her Master and Professional Studies Degrees from the Manhattan School of Music. Her teachers have included Orin O'Brien, Timothy Cobb, and James VanDemark. Before living in Spokane, she performed professionally with the Rochester Philharmonic, the Virginia Symphony, and was principal bass of the Billings Symphony. She is also the bassist for the Hot Club of Spokane, a local jazz group that plays in the gypsy jazz style of Django Reinhardt. This will be her 10th year at Red Lodge.
