Megan Murphy Kenny received a
Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Music
degree in violin performance from the Yale School of Music where she was the
Harry and Margaret Simeone Scholar and recipient of the Harriet G. Fox Memorial
Prize. Megan has performed with numerous symphonies and chamber orchestras in
the United States, including the Boston Philharmonic and as associate
concertmaster of the Civic Symphony Orchestra of Boston. She has participated
in master classes with artists such as Almida and Roland Vamos, Pamela Frank,
and the Muir Quartet and she received chamber coaching from Martin Beaver of the
Tokyo Quartet while at Yale. She is a recipient of the National Symphony
Orchestra Youth Fellowship. In 2007 Megan performed with performed regularly
with orchestras in Montana such as the String Orchestra of the Rockies, Billings
Symphony, Rimrock Opera Company and Great Falls Symphony and also as a guest
artist with the Meritage Quartet in a concert series throughout the state. She
is a certified Suzuki instructor and a faculty member at the Snyder Music
Academy in Fayetteville, NC.
